Computer engineering is technology itself. In a recent article it speaks of Intel showing off the technology of the future. They have created a chip which is not due until 2011. This is the world's smallest chip which will soon be running Microsoft operating system. This is a 22-nanometer technology which does not have the proccessors for it yet.
